While it seems simple enough, it is far from simple to judge the impact if you’re shipping on your own. For example, Express Mail is going to be zone-based: the further away, the more it will be. First Class Mail will switch to shape-based pricing and there will be more tiers.

If you read the Postal Service pages, they are spinning these cost increases, and the fact that there will be an increase every May from now on, as a great new small business feature. Don’t be confused, it is more money out of your pocket and there are lots of changes that will likely impact costs to your business. There is some argument to be made that these new prices were adopted to give USPS more flexibility before 2009, when a new postage pricing law takes effect and USPS will be able to raise rates annually, but no more than the inflation rate the year prior.

Businesses from catalog retailers to wedding planners (invitations for Spring & Summer weddings, anyone?) are concerned about the rate increase. From there you just walk through the “Send to Shipwire” wizard and tell Shipwire what your sending to the warehouse.

Store - Special Projects wizard. Many merchants want to run a “special project” on inventory as it is being received by the warehouse. We just made this incredibly easy. A “Special Project” could be adding a retail compliance tag, kitting, break down or generally modify inventory before it is stored available for shipping. Shipwire has released a new tool to make notification and documentation of a special project need simple via a “Store” Wizard.

Sell - Shipwire’s partner program is growing quickly and we are now integrated with more shopping carts, partners and inventory management systems. New partner integrations include Zoovy, Wordpress, Zen-Cart, ASPDotNetStorefront, eBay ProStores, Netsuite and more. A complete list is available on our Compatible Carts page and all instructions are in the Shipwire Help Center.

Ship - New Freight Options are now available for outbound shipping. By customer request Shipwire now offers access to FedEx Freight for outbound shipments of bulk, heavy or wholesale inventory from warehouses in Los Angeles and Chicago. This adds an additional freight option to existing freight expertise. Shhh….look for more shipping options soon.

Ship - Shipwire has greatly enhanced the functionality of the PayPal IPN service for notification of orders from paypal products like Virutual Terminal.

MyAccount - New automated account messages help users manage, automate and tune their storage and shipping easily. Merchants can now receive automated e-mail and dashboard notification of order shipped status, shipping notices and receiving confirmations. This should help people manage their account with less time and keep track of their business while traveling.

MyAccount - Shipwire now offers a customer referral program. Existing Customers will be able to send special offers to friends and receive shipping credits by simply telling friends about Shipwire. Look for lots of benefits for the referrer and the referee by logging into your accoun.

MyAccount - Shipwire has greatly enhanced its platform wide search and help center. Type a request into our search box and search for orders or help files inside the account, on shipwire.com and in our customer forums. Unified search can be used for tracking ID’s, looking up orders or just figuring out where to go to change a preference.

Shipwire can be connected to Volusion ecommerce storefront with no programming necessary and just a few steps. Shipwire enables volusion users to benefit from eCommerce fulfillment services once an order has been completed through the shopping cart.

Features that you can get with the Shipwire connection to Volusion

• Real-time order fulfillment
• Live inventory synch from all Shipwire warehouses to your Volusion account (warehouses in Chicago, Los Angeles, Toronto, Vancouver and London, England)
• Shipwire will submit order tracking information back to your Volusion store once shipped by the warehouse

To do this you must turn on the Volusion API, add Volusion to your Shipwire account and test.

This should only take a few minutes.

1. Turn on the Volusion API in your Volusion account.
a. Login to your Volusion account.
b. Enable Volusions “Generic API” under Inventory -> Import/Export -> Volusion API.
c. After you have enabled this Generic API integration, click the “run” button in the “Generic/Orders” section.
d. IMPORTANT: You must save the “encrypted password” portion of the URL (see image below if your not sure what part of the URL this is). You will plug this into the Shipwire Volusion wizard so that the Shipwire platform can connect to your Volusion account.

2. Add Volusion to your Shipwire account and connect.
a. Log into Shipwire and go to “Sell” tools section. Add Volusion as a sell tool and select “setup connection” tab.
b. You will be asked to enter the following: Your Volusion e-mail address; the encrypted password (see 1.d. above); your Volusion store domain name or IP.
c. Now tell Shipwire what Volusion order to start importing from and choose what Volusion status you want to use to trigger Shipwire to fulfill the order. We recommend “Ready to Ship” status.

3. Test
a. Place a few orders into your Volusion store and set the status as “Ready to Ship”.
b. Shipwire will pull new orders from your Volusion store every hour. Shipwire will automatically recoginze the order and fulfill the order once the order status is set to “Ready To Ship” in Volusion admin.

Note: In the Shipwire control panel you can delete orders from the Shipwire queue by clicking “Delete Checked Orders”. You can also force the order to be fulfilled even if the order status is not set to “Ready to Ship”.

Getting Ready to Operate in the E.U.

Import and Customs

• London and the EU are not free trade between the U.S. To Import your inventory it will need to pass through Customs.
• You will need to pay tax and customs duties. Look up customs duties and restrictions for your products.
• The following forms are needed to clear customs
  • A completed C88 form: C88 is the customs declaration form all importers (or their agents) need to complete to declare goods to Customs. The form specifies information about the parties involved in the import, how the goods were transported, and statistical data. A paper C88 form presented manually is certified when presented by being stamped by a Custom’s official. Alternatively, details can also be submitted electronically via CHIEF (Customs Handling of Import and Export Freight), if used, Customs will issue an Entry Acceptance Advice in place of a stamp as proof that entry was accepted by Customs.
  • An attached copy of the supplier’s invoice (used for VAT)
  • Goods classified appropriately in order to ensure that the correct tariff is applied
  • Any special licenses that may be required
• It can take a few weeks for inventory to clear Customs. Expect Import delays the first few times if you are using a 3rd party customs broker or freight forwarder. If your shipments are timely, take this into consideration.
• Payment of customs duties: Once an import C88 has been submitted and accepted by Customs and Excise, any amounts owed are due. All duties and tariffs must be paid before they are released. Importers with goods arriving regularly usually pay by using a Deferment Account for them or their agent. You can also pay by Sterling traveler check, bank draft or company check.

• Moving product in bulk to your new London facility means you clear VAT once and establish the Import VAT base, by shipping it to yourself. You now know your base VAT tax obligation and can reprice your merchandise accordingly.

Tell Shipwire you are sending goods to the UK

Sending your inventory to the UK is just as easy as sending your inventory to the other Shipwire warehouses.

Log into your acount, select “Store” from the Left navigation and click “Send to Shipwire” to create an Advanced Shipping Notice (ASN). Tell us what products you are sending and in what quantity. Please input your shipping tracking information and your expected delivery date to the warehouse.

Once your inventory arrives at the warehouse it will be measured, reviewed and inventoried. Once complete all inventory will be available for shipping.

Backorders

You can instantly signup for a Shipwire account, and immediately enter orders. Your orders will simply backorder until your inventory is received in our UK warehouse.

Understanding Pricing

• Pay with PayPal, credit card or bank transfer

• Storing 1 pallet in the UK is the same as storing 1 pallet in Chicago. For example, say your monthly plan includes up to 4 pallets of storage. If you store 1 pallet in the UK, and 1 pallet in the US, you have 2 pallets of storage left in your plan.

Get real-time order fulfillment for your X-cart powered store from the Shipwire warehouse network. Shipwire warehouses in Los Angeles, Chicago, Toronto, Vancouver and the UK(beta) can all be utilized with your X-cart shopping cart.

To integrate X-cart with Shipwire, just follow the instructions below.

A few things to note as you get started:

1) Your product SKU id’s in Shipwire should match the SKU field in X-cart for any products that you want to use Shipwire to fulfill.
2) there are three options for triggering Shipwire fulfillment from X-cart.

Option 1 (Recommended). Fulfill automatically after checkout, Admin triggered. Admin can trigger the fulfillment notice to Shipwire by clicking “Shipwire Fulfillment” Button on admin’s orders list page. Uou can fulfill multiple orders at a time by checking checkbox in front of order list item. (Note: only Queued, Processed or Backordered orders can be fulfilled, and after success of fulfillment, order status will be changed to “Completed”).

Option 2. Fulfill automatically after checkout. Order fulfillment notice will be automatically sent to Shipwire at the end of shopping checkout process. (Note: this is not recommended, but if admin set this option, after fulfillment, success of fulfillment will not change the status).

Option 3. Disable. Shipwire will not be notified of orders.

3) The Shipwire API’s XML response will be logged to a log file and in admin dashboard fulfillment status will be displayed.

To Setup Shipwire and X-Cart:

A) Log into Shipwire, go to “Sell” tools and add X-cart to your account.

B) X-Cart “Sell” tool includes configuration instructions and the Shipwire for X-cart module.

C) Install X-cart Module from Shipwire into your X-Cart folders. The module includes a set of “read-me” instructions that you should follow that includes the list of files that you will need to overwrite in X-cart.
Setup X-Cart database by Logging into your store admin screen and go to “setup_shipwire_db.php” page. Run through the Shipwire module configuration (see detailed instructions in the module’s “read-me” instructions file).

D) Confirm Shipwire connection to X-cart and insert secret Key generated by your X-cart module. Ensure your SKU’s in Shipwire match your SKU’s in X-cart. Product information required in Shipwire and its corresponding value in X-cart includes:

• SKU name - IMPORTANT: In your X-CART product, “SKU” field should be specified as SKU name.
• Description - “Product name” field in X-CART
• Packing Type - You can specify either “Lick ‘n Stick™” or “Pick and Pack”
• Dimensions(Length, Width, Height) - Products Length, Width, Height is needed for shipping fee calculation for shipment.
• Weight - “Products Shipping Weight” field in X-CART
• Declared Value - “Price” field in X-CART

This integration supports real-time and manual submission of orders from a Netsuite store to the Shipwire Store-Sell-Ship(tm) platform. Your Shipwire account will capture the order and route it the the Shipwire warehouse of your selection for packaging and order fulfillment.

This document explains how to setup NetSuite with Shipwire. To complete this, you will need to have a Shipwire account or Free Trial and access to your Netsuite account to install a 3rd party bundle.

1. Install Shipwire bundle to your NetSuite account.
2. Setup Your Shipwire account information in NetSuite.
   • Go to Setup > Company > General Preferences.
   • Select “Customer Preferences” Tab.
   • Enter Your Shipwire Email, Password, Secret Key(you can create secret key up to 10 characters). If you don’t have Shipwire (http://www.shipwire.com) account, sign up one for free(Store and ship up to 6 products, free!).
   • Check “Enable Fulfillment Notification” checkbox to enable Shipwire order fulfillment function.
   • If you want to test your test order fulfillment, Check “Use Test Server” checkbox, after the order test fulfillment, uncheck this box for live server fulfillment.
   • Click “Save” button to save Shipwire Account information
3. Add and setup NetSuite sell tool to your Shipwire account.
   • Login to your Shipwire account.
   • On the left menu, select Sell > Add Selling Tools.
   • By Adding NetSuite as your selling tool, “NetSuite” will be listed under Sell menu.
   • Click “NetSuite” from the menu.
   • You have already done step 1 and 2 in the setup instruction, now enter your Secret Key you just created in 2.3 above.
   • Check “Automatic Shipment on Order Notification” checkbox.
   • Click “Save” Button.
4. Now both Netsuite and Shipwire setups are done and you can test your order fulfillment.
5. Test Order Fulfillment.
   • Before you test your order fulfillment, you have to add your products to Shipwire, so Shipwire can recognize your order from NetSuite.
     • Following product fields are required to add product to shipwire.
       – SKU name => IMPORTANT: In your NetSuite product field, “Vendor Name” field should be used as SKU name.
       – Description => Products “Description” field in NetSuite.
       – Packing Type => you can specify either “Lick and Stick” or “Pick and Pack”.
       – Dimensions(Length, Width, Height) => Products Length, Width, Height is needed for shipping fee calculation for shipment.
       – Weight => Products “Weight” field in NetSuite.
       – Declared Value => Products “Price” field in NetSuite.
   • Place a test order in your NetSuite.
   • Go to “Fulfill Sales Orders” Page in you NetSuite.
   • Go through normal order fulfillment process, either choose orders and click “fulfill” or fulfill in order detail page.
   • Order fulfillment notice will be sent to Shipwire.
   • Login to Shipwire account and check if shipping order is placed in “My Account > Dashboard”.
   • After successful order fulfillment submission, do not forget uncheck “Use Test Server” Option is step 2.5 for production server use.

This integration supports real-time and manual submission of orders from a Zen Cart store to the Shipwire Store-Sell-Ship(tm) platform. Your Shipwire account will capture the order and route it the the Shipwire warehouse of your selection for packaging and order fulfillment.

Please follow the steps below.

Start by logging into your Shipwire account. If you don’t have a Shipwire account please start by setting up a Free Trial account.

Step A: Add Zen Cart Wizard: Go to the “Store” menu in your Shipwire account and add Zen Cart as a “Sell Tool”. This will automatically add the installation wizard for the Shipwire Zen Cart Module.

Step B: Select the Zen Cart module from the left Sell menu in your account and ollow the simple 4-step wizard for Connecting

Step 1: Install Shipwire Module.

Step 2: Configure Shipwire Module and generate Secret Key

Step 3: Paste Secret Key into your Shipwire Account

Step 4: Shipwire can automatically fulfill orders received from Zen Cart (check box) or leave box unchecked for you to manually log-in, validate orders and send them to the warehouse(s).

Step C: Test an Order.
